The unique thing about hashtag#sustainability efforts in the hashtag#supplychain is the sheer scale and power dynamics - prioritization is essential!
All of the approaches above are essentially different ways to think about 3 things:
1️⃣ Where's the impact / risk?
2️⃣ How much can you influence the supplier?
3️⃣ What's the right action to take with that supplier?
That's all good and simple, but with sustainability, the devil really is in the details, mainly because sustainability can mean 100 different things 👿
So the answer to 1️⃣ above really depend on what your asking about. Emissions? Child labor? Deforestation? You'll get different sets of suppliers for each.
2️⃣ and 3️⃣ can be based on broader rules like the ones referenced in the slides.
